Solomon Islands has resumed copra exports to Europe after a five-year break.

A first shipment has been sent to Britain by a local company, Agribiz.

Its owner, Paul White, says there will be a series of shipments to European markets, including a 1-thousand tonne consignment bound for Belgium.

He says another 400 tonnes will be exported from Noro in western province.

Agribiz is one of 11 licensed copra exporters in Solomon Islands.
