Gizo Hospital in Solomon Islands Western Province has reduced services because of financial difficulties.
One of the doctors at the hospital, Divi Ogaoga, says employees have not received salaries for three consecutives paydays.
He told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation that staff have asked for some time off so that they can find some way of feeding their families.
