Vanuatu's Opposition parties claim they have the backing of enough MPs to successfully bring a vote of no confidence in the Goverrnment of Edward Natapei.
The spokesman for the opposition National United Party, Moking Steven, says they have the backing of disgruntled government backbenchers and independent MPs.
The parties say the government should go because it has increased taxes, recruited foreign advisers, and because the Government run Commodities Marketing Board is bankrupt.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister's office says the planned vote is just the latest attempt to destabilize it, and the opposition do not have the numbers to succeed.
