There's strong speculation in Fiji that the military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, is again being offered a diplomatic posting abroad.
Fiji TV says this follows a closed door meeting in Suva yesterday between the Commodore and President Iloilo who is the army commander-in-chief.
Last year Commodore Bainimarama turned down an offer of a diplomatic posting.
The government then nominated him to the position of force commander for the United Nations Observer Mission in Kuwait but the UN appointed a Polish general instead.
Meanwhile, the government has denied that it asked the army to go easy on soldiers implicated in the coup and two mutinies.
