Vanuatu's Opposition Leader, Willie Jimmy, says there is a need for an alternative government or government of national unity, because the current coalition is struggling to deliver essential services to people.

He says the Government has increased the people's burden with extra taxes.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister Edward Natapei says the Coalition has every intention of surviving for its full four year term.

And he has called on the people to recognize the benefits of value added tax or VAT and the soon to be implemented debit tax.
