Organisers of next year's Festival of Pacific Arts in Palau have been advised that bookings for accommodation and flights should be made early because of a big demand.
The festival is to be held in Koror in July next year and the director of the last event, Octave Tonga of New Caledonia, says he expects Palau will face similar challenges as Noumea did.
Officials in Palau plan to turn schools into dormitories, leaving about 1-thousand hotel rooms available.
Next year's event will be the first Pacific Arts Festival in Micronesia.
Organisers say outrigger canoes from the Marshall Islands plan to sail to Palau as well as from the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas and the Federated States of Micronesia.
