The results of voting for two seats in Papua New Guinea's southern Highlands have now been declared.
The township of Tari, which was the scene of some of the worst violence in the elections last year, has been won by Tom Erelene of the People's Action Party.
A former top rugby league player, Thomas Petrus, has won the seat of Koroba-Lake Kopiago for a party in the ruling coalition .
Counting is yet to be completed in four other seats in the province.
The poll is being held amid tight security after last year's polling was abandoned because of fraud and violence.
