Samoa's Trade Minister calls for more exports to the Pacific

Trade figures from Samoa indicate that the country is only exporting to American Samoa.

The only product to be sent to American Samoa is fish.

The Minister of Trade, Hans Joachim Keil, said Samoa was not doing enough trade in the Pacific.

He said his country was importing goods from New Zealand, Australia and Jpan, but sending out nothing in return.

Mr Keil said Samoan manufacturers should raise the quality of their work and engage in more production instead of bringing in goods from offshore
