State-owned Radio Fiji has taken disciplinary action against its news director, Mesake Koroi, for conducting an interview with the information minister, Simione Kaitani.

The interview about the media bill was done for the ministry of information and was aired on Fiji TV last Sunday.

The radio's chief executive, Francis Herman, says the interview was contrary to the company's policy and came at a time when the Fiji media as a whole opposed the bill.

He says the nature of the action and other details are confidential.
