Pacific Islands Forum Aviation ministers have endorsed the Pacific Islands Air Services Agreement and approved the Aviation Action Plan 2003 at a meeting in Vanuatu.
The ministers agreed that the Agreement would help the Forum goals of encouraging private sector development and competition.
The meeting also saw the approval of the Pacific Aviation Safety Office's first business plan.
The Office is a a new regional body that will supervise safety and security in seven nations from its base in Port Villa.
The ministers say they mandated its creation as a proactive response to meeting international responsibilities through co-operative action.
