Samoan village clamps on theft of soils, sand, stones and timber

A village in Samoa has announced it will fine companies if the removal of village property like pebbles and sand continues.

The village of Lealatele on Savai'i reports that soil, stones, sand and timber have been carted away without permission.

Offenders will be fined as will former members of the village caught giving permission for removal of property without chiefly approval.
