Solomon's Police Commissioner says public shouldn't fear intervention force

The Commissioner of Police in Solomon Isalnds, William Morrell, has advised the general public not to fear the members of the international intervention force, who are now in Honiara and others who will be arriving in the next few days.

Mr Morrell adds that people should look upon the foreigners as friends who are in Solomon Islands to help the country and its people.

He told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation that there was nothing to fear from the group of more than two thousand police,soliders and support staff unless someone had something to hide.
