The chief executive of Airports Fiji Limited says corruption, nepotism and cronyism are major diseases in Fiji at all levels of the government, public enterprises and the private sector.
Ratu Sakiusa Tuisolia, who until recently was a senior official in the Prime Minister's Office, says these are huge obstacles to Fiji's economic and national development and the country has paid its price in many ways.
Ratu Sakiusa has told the Fiji Sun newspaper that corruption, nepotism and croyism stem from people in positions of leadership and responsibility who lack the values and principles to always do the right thing.
He says he has been made aware of the three bad practices at Airports Fiji Limited.
Ratu Sakiusa rsays he is committed to ridding the company of these bad habits and the people who practise them.
He says he is determined to make Airports Fiji Ltd, a company beset with serious problems since its creation in 1999, a model for good corporate governance in Fiji.
