New Zealand's Aid Minister, Marian Hobbs, says the government will give 11 million US dollars over the next three years to the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, or SPC.

The regional agency provides technical assistance to Pacific Island countries.

Ms Hobbs says New Zealand has a long standing relationship with the SPC and both focus on poverty elimination and sustainable development.

She formalised the funding arrangement by signing a memorandum of Arrangement with the SPC at its bi-annual Minister Conference in Fiji.
