Fiji mutineers arrested again

4:43 pm on 21 November 2003

Fiji's military has re-arrested three out of four soldiers released last week after serving their sentences for taking part in the November 2000 mutiny.

Radio Fiji quotes the military spokesman Warrant Officer Neumi Leweni as saying the three were taken back into custody for their involvement in the May 2000 coup.

He says the court martial of soldiers involved in the coup has been ongoing since March this year.

The three re-arrested soldiers, Privates Asiveresi Roko, Walosio Liganivai and Waisele Lasekula, will join the accused when the court martial resumes on January 26th next year.
