The Vanuatu electorate of Efate rural goes to the polls today for the by-election in former Prime Minister Barak Sope's vacant seat.
The seat was declared vacant after Mr Sope was jailed for fraud but after a presidential pardon he has been given the go-ahead to contest the seat again.
The other three candidates are Foster Rakom of the Vanua'aku Pati, and two independents, Roro Sambo and Jack Kallon.
A spokesperson from the Vanuatu Electoral Commission says they expect to have a result from the by-election within two to three days.
