Australian PM to visit Solomon Islands

The Australian prime minister, John Howard, will make a brief visit to Solomon Islands on Monday.

This is the second visit to Solomon Islands in just over five months.

Mr Howard will spend two hours in Honiara arriving at 10 am.

He will visit the Australian troops under the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands and make a courtesy call on the prime minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza.

Sir Allan has told Solomon Islands radio the Australian prime minister is visiting Solomon Islands to see for himself the achievements made so far by RAMSI in the restoration of law and order in the country.
