The government in American Samoa has announced it closed this fiscal year of 2003 in September with excess revenues of 1.6 million US dollars.

Governor Togiola Tulafono says the government had a very successful year in fiscal year 2003, closing in the black.

He says the government did not utilize any loan or settlement funds to meet budget obligations.

The governor says the government has yet to decide how the excess revenue will be spent in the new year.
