The Cook Islands government has revised its economic growth upwards, after a strong performance in the first half of this financial year.

This growth may lead to the introduction of a supplementary budget next year.

The increase is due to a growth in visitor numbers, and revised tourism expenditure.

Statistics compiled by the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation to the end of October showed 65,054 people visited the country this year.
