A hoax bomb call which triggered a high level alert at Nadi International Airport has landed a man in jail.
35-year-old security guard, Rakesh Lal, made the call yesterday from the offices of a Nadi pharmaceuticals company where he is employed.
He told the telephone operator at the airport that there was a bomb in the terminal building and slammed the phone down.
The call was traced and Lal was brought before the Nadi magistrate's court within hours where he admitted making it as a joke.
He was jailed for 12 months.
