Fijian soldier becomes second to die in Iraq on private deployment

A Fijian soldier serving with the British security company, Global Risk Strategies, has been killed in a mortar attack in Iraq.

41 year old Lance Corporal Tomasi Ramatau died of massive head injuries while on duty at Baghdad International Airport.

The mortar attack was launched from outside the airport perimeter.

Lance Corporal Ramatau was airlifted to an American hospital but declared dead on arrival.

He is the second Fijian soldier to die in Iraq while on private deployment.
