The Solomon Islands government has been criticised for not having clear guidelines for foreign workers entering the country.

The acting Director of Immigration, Robert Fa'arodo, says the uncertainty of the situation is causing tension.

"The problem is there needs to be a clear policy. Governmet needs to set a priority. At the moment, without a clear policy, things are not straight, things are just going here and there. Actually, the labour department should screen properly those foreigners who come into work."
