PNG woman charged with murder for Mt Hagen airport stabbing

A woman who allegedly stabbed another woman to death in the departure lounge of Mount Hagen airport in Papua New Guinea has been charged with wilful murder.

The Western Highlands provincial police commander Wini Henao says the woman has been charged and remanded in custody.

According to the National newspaper Mr Heano says the suspect accused the woman of having an affair with her husband and stabbed her to death.

The suspect will face a committal hearing first in the district court and if found guilty could face the death penalty.
