The Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry has named the Tappoo group of companies 'Indigenous Buddy of the Year'.
Tappoo received the commendation for working towards greater unity and reconciliation in the country.
The Daily Post reports the chamber has praised the Tappoo Group for going with the Ba Provincial Council over a decade ago, to foster greater indigenous partnership in commerce.
The partnership runs upmarket duty free outlets and came into being well before the advent of the government's affirmative action programmes.
