Samoa's state-owned television and radio, which have nationwide reach, have been targeted to be sold.
The chief executive of the Ministry of Finance, Hinauri Petana, says both media, now operating under the auspices of the Samoa Broadcasting Corporation, will undergo restructuring, before a trade sale can be organised.
Already two applications for licenses for television stations are before the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Palusalue Fa'apo II.
The first one, which submitted several years ago, was from the former head of state television, Leota Uelese Petaia.
Private radio operator, Maposua Rudolf Keil, has also confirmed he's putting in an application.
