The speaker of the Solomon Islands parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea, has urged parliamentarians to make every effort to attend house sittings.
He says the sitting, which began in Honiara yesterday, is important, because government bills and issues are being tabled in parliament.
But Sir Peter didn't reveal what the bills were, it's understood they include the supplementary appropriation bill, and a report on the killing of ten people on the Weather Coast of Guadalcanal.
It's also understood a top parliamentary task force will report on how the government's development projects will be funded, under the 2004-2005 government budget.
It's anticipated that development budgets will be 1-hundred per cent funded by donors, who'll need to be convinced.
The government, and nation as a whole, will be eager to know which projects will receive donor assistance.
More than 2-thousand government workers are waiting for parliament to approve the appropriation, so they can get their two-point-five per cent pay rise, backdated to January 2003.
