An inquest is due to open later today into how an Australian woman died on Norfolk Island.

The body of twenty-nine-year-old Janelle Patton, from Sydney, was found covered in a sheet of black plastic, on Easter Sunday in 2002.

Miss Patton, who was from Sydney, had been working on the island for two and a half years.

When police were trying to identify finger prints found on the plastic that had covered the body, they received a huge response from residents and visitors.

But these initiatives, and the offer of a reward of more than 2-hundred thousand US dollars, have not helped to solve the crime.
