Anglican leader to visit Solomons and Vanuatu, says report

It's reported the leader of the world's Anglicans is to visit Vanuatu and Solomon Islands next month.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, will visit the Church of Melanesia in July this year.

The week-long visit to the Church of Melanesia will begin in Honiara in Solomon Islands on July 19th, before going on to Vanuatu on the 24th.

The Church of Melanesia's Newsletter, 'Melanesian Messenger' reports that a program for the Archbishop of Canterbury's visit is being finalised.

The last time the Archbishop of Canterbury visited the Church of Melanesia was in 1977.
