A Fiji police taskforce has moved to the Northern Division to question officers alleged to have been involved in the 2000 coup.
Two senior officers in the Central Division have already been suspended as a result of the investigations.
Police spokesman, Mesake Koroi, says civilians, backed by some military, took over the army barracks in Labasa as well as the police station.
He says questioning is continuing of witnesses in the area but two officers in the Northern Division have now been suspended.
"The allegation is that at the height of the takeover, Labasa police station, it was a police sergeant and another police officer helped lock the twelve policemen who were on duty at the station at the time, in the cell, and they also helped in brutalising these officers."
Mr Koroi says it was the sergeant and a special constable who were suspended.
The taskforce next travels to the Western Division.
