Former Solomons MP and businessman charged with intimidation

A former member of Parliament and prominent Solomon Islands businessman, Charles Dausabea, has been arrested and charged with one count of intimidation.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports that Dausabea appeared before Magistrate Jane Hamilton at the Central Magistrates Court in Honiara but was released with strict conditions.

The court ordered Dausabea to stay at his residence, surrender his passport and report to police weekly.

Dausabea is alleged to have intimidated an African man named Ombhadur Tilija on January 31st this year.

He is scheduled to appear again in Court on July 27.
