Another snake found in French Polynesia

French Polynesian police have found a dead grass snake on the western side of Tahiti.

The Tahitipresse news agency says the 2.5 metre long snake was in an advanced state of decomposition.

It is the fourth snake found in the territory over these past months.

First a boa was found, then a grass snake was discovered in Faa'a, and a few weeks ago a royal python was found in Papeete.

An iguana was found in Mahina during the same period.

There is speculation that these discoveries may linked to trafficking of animals.
