The New Zealand trade minister says that he's noticed the Fiji economy is thriving.

Jim Sutton is leading a trade mission to Fiji, and will meet his local counterpart later today.

Mr Sutton says rapid growth is visibly evident even in the space of a year:

"Last time I was here, it was during the South Pacific Games. And even in that sort of, even in that relatively brief time since then, I believe that this economy is visibly doing better. And, and that of course, reflects the relationship between the business community and the government."
