Reports from Solomon Islands say a crime investigator from the Regional Assistance Mission has been flown to Australia after he was assaulted by inmates at Honiara's Rove prison.
Police sources say the attack came after two Australian prison advisors were also attacked by inmates.
But a spokesperson for Ramsi says the report is wrong and no such incident occurred.
Rove prison was the scene of a riot on Tuesday involving about 200 inmates.
Authorities said the unrest at the jail posed no risk to the public but a nearby school was closed.
It is not known what sparked the riot which ended late in the day and saw the inmates give a petition to the police minister alleging reckless behaviour by Ramsi police
The police commissioner, Bill Morrell, says prison visits by relatives are now being minimised and more inmates are being put into some cells because some cells had been damaged in Tuesday's commotion.
