One of Fiji's two domestic airlines, Air Fiji, is claiming US$350,000 in damages from four parties after 27 engineers when on strike over five weeks ago.
The Fiji Times reports that in a writ filed in the High Court, Air Fiji is claiming general damages from trade unionist Attar Singh, two engineers and the Fiji Air Engineers Association.
The airline sacked the striking engineers three weeks ago but unionist Attar Singh says they have been locked out.
The airline has advertised the jobs of the strikers and is continuing to maintain most services, but Mr Singh says they have written to the Civil Aviation Authority to raise their concerns over safety.
