Police sources in American Samoa say police were approached with bribes in a raid on a video store.
Police reportedly uncovered huge amounts of cash during the raid and search of three Talofa Video stores last week.
Authorities raided the company after complaints that pirated videos and DVDs had been sold locally.
The Samoa News newspaper quotes unnamed police sources as saying that officers were surprised when they discovered bundles of piled up cash.
Police say they are highly suspicious because the company didn't deposit the cash they received on a daily basis.
A police computer specialist also uncovered the website from which the company allegedly downloaded its DVDs for sale to the public.
No charges have been filed yet, but the company's three locations are now closed and under police custody.
