Fiji's foreign affairs minister Kaliopate Tavola has meet workers from Fiji currently employed in the Cook Islands.

The Cook Islands News reports the minister and his chief executive officer, Isikeli Mataitoga, planned visit to members of the Fiji community at the Aitutaki hostel.

The get-together follows discussions held the the Cook Islands premier, Doctor Robert Woonton, about Fiji workers in the Cook Islands.

Mr Tavola says the two talked about alleged unhappiness amongst the Fiji workers.

He says they provide remittance income to Fiji and also provide the Cook Islands with labour.
