The Pacific Islands Forum will send an election observer mission to Nauru for the polls due to be held on October the 23rd.
The Forum's secretary general, Greg Urwin, says Nauru's president, Ludwig Scotty, has invited the Forum mission.
Last week, President Scotty called fresh elections and declared a state of emergency after parliament failed to pass the budget.
