PNG police commissioner confirms Australian deployment timing

Police in Papua New Guinea have confirmed that armed Australian police will be starting street patrols in Port Moresby within a month.

The assistant police commissioner Tony Wagambie and other senior members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary have held meetings with the Assisting Australian Police.

Commissioner Wagambie says all involved are working to identify how Australian police can be integrated into Port Moresby, wh ich has been afflicted by violent crime.
