A defeated candidate for American Samoa's governorship, Senator Te'o J. Fuavai has accepted the post of campaign chairman to another candidate for the job, Afoa Moega Lutu.

Senator Te'o was the lowest polling candidate in the November 2nd election which eliminated him from the run-off election for governor now set for Nov. 16th.

Incumbent Governor Togiola Tulafono faces challenger Afoa in the run-off.

Senator Te'o accepted the chairmanship post during a gathering of about 800 supporters of Afoa yesterday.

He says he accepted the post because he believes in Afo'a s platform to make changes in government and called on supporters to work together to achieve a successful run-off.
