The Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum has welcomed new funding from China to support the work of Pacific legislatures.
Greg Urwin says the 70,000 US dollars will support the interim Secretariat of the Forum Presiding Officers Conference, which represents the Speakers of Parliament and Congress in the Pacific.
The funding was presented by China's Ambassador in Suva, Cai Jinbiao.
