Fiji's national carrier Air Pacific will start flying the Tongatapu-Suva route today.
The the route covered by Air Fiji in the past before the Fiji government revoked Air Fiji's license as a Fiji designated carrier.
Civil aviation in Tonga said the flights will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will also add on another service on Saturdays.
These flights will continue on from Suva to Nadi.
Civil aviation said this is under a special arrangement with the airline to cover these routes over the festive season and would probably cease by February next year.
