American Samoan carrier launch delayed

Amerika Samoa Air says that following discussions with officials of the America Samoa Government, the launch date for their airline has been postponed to January.

The airline had said earlier it would open for business this month.

The delay is said to be due to the recent elections, and inadequate airport offices and hangar space to accommodate their needs.

The company has hired a technical team which is working on obtaining necessary federal approvals to operate scheduled flight service in American Samoa.

The airline initially plans to fly to Manu'a and Samoa but will also look at other regional routes later on.
