PNG soldiers and police to get more pay

Police and the military in Papua New Guinea will get a pay rise.

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary has won a two-part package, amounting to a 10 per cent wage increase within 12 months.

The Post Courier reports that soldiers and warders have been assured they will get promised improvements before Christmas.

Rank and file members of some of the disciplined forces had been voicing discontent as they tried to piece together the government's stance on wage improvements.
