The head of the participating police force in Solomon Islands says police accommodation and office facilities will be renovated over the next three years.

Deputy Police Commissioner, Sandy Peisley, RAMSI's top police officer, says a lot of police housing is dilapidated.

She says they will rebuild the housing throughout the country.

"We're looking to upgrade some of the accommodation, they badly need renovations, they have run down over a period of 10 to 15 years, not only the police stations but also the housing allocated to the RSIP."

Sandy Peisley says all police officers have now been given uniforms, while they will also receive a pay rise in January.
