American Samoa's homeless to get US aid

5:23 pm on 23 December 2004

American Samoa's homeless are to get over 159,000 US dollars in aid next year from the US Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The money is part of a 153 million dollars package to support social service agencies in more than 2,500 jurisdictions associated with the United States.

The money supplements food, shelter, rent, mortgage and utility assistance programs for people with non-disaster related emergencies.
