Cook Island police officers with Ramsi said to be safe

The Cook Islands deputy police commissioner, Maara Tetava, says that the country's police officers in Solomon Islands are safe and sound.

The officers, sergeant Rebecca Ellis and senior constable, Michael Akava, have been working in Solomon Islands as part of the Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission.

Mr Tetava says that both officers are now back in Honiara.

He says since the incident where an Australian Protective Services officer, Adam Dunning, was shot and killed, security has been upgraded around the RAMSI camp where the Cook Island officers are both located.
