A Pacific tourism conference in Fiji in February expects to draw stakeholders from around the Pacific and Asia.

Tourism executives from around the region hope to meet potential partners and investors from all over the world and also discuss viable projects in their respective countries.

The Pacific Tourism Investment Conference is being organised by the European Union's ProInvest Programme in collaboration with the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation, and the Pacific and Asian Travel Association.

The meeting will take place in Fiji from February 1st until the 4th.

The Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority will pay for accommodation costs for 13 PNG tourism project proponents for the Fiji meeting.

TPA board chairman, Sasa Zibe, says the benefits are expected to be enormous for PNG tourism.
