The Commissioner of Police in the Solomon Islands has congratulated police efforts which lead to the arrest and charge of a twenty-year-old man in relation to the October shooting of a RAMSI police vehicle.

Philip Suiga Kwaimani was charged with two counts of attempted murder during the shooting of a Participating Police Force vehicle in Honiara three months ago.

Mr Morrell says he is confident the partnership of the Royal Solomon Islands Police and RAMSI will grow as investigations continue into other crime, including the recent murder of Australian Federal Police Officer, Adam Dunning.

Solomons Radio reports he is appealing to the public to call an information hotline that has been set up to assist police with their investigations.
