Australian High Commissioner back at work in Suva after bashing last month

Australia's top diplomat in Fiji returned to work today, just over three weeks after being bashed and robbed in the streets of Suva.

High Commissioner Jennifer Rawson arrived in Suva last night from Australia, where she had been recuperating from surgery for facial injuries suffered in the attack.

Ms Rawson's jaw was broken when a man assaulted her while she was out jogging near her Suva residence in the early morning of January 8.

Last week, 20-year-old Panapasa Sulua, an unemployed ex-convict who lived in a nearby housing estate, pleaded guilty to the crime in a Suva court.
