Samoa's minister of health says job losses likely over PSC investigation

Samoa's Minister of Health says heads may roll when an ongoing investigation into alleged mismanagement of ministry funds is complete.

The ministry of health's Chief Executive Officer, Lolofie Eti Enosa, was suspended last year on full pay and benefits, and faced 45 fraud charges.

Mr Enosa was deemed no longer liable for the charges when his public service contract expired, but he had reportedly reapplied for the post again.

Mulitalo Siafusi Vui distanced himself from the investigation by the Public Service Commission and the police.

But he said it should be finished soon and jobs may be on the line as a result.

"We have to do the best, and to do the right (thing) for the benefit of our country and we have to find justice. If there are any people caught in or during our judiciary systems, they must face the consequences."
